The short version: what you count stays with you. Sunday Tally has no accounts and no database of giving records, and we never see your church’s numbers.

Your counting data

The counting app runs entirely in your web browser. Gifts, funds, accounts, sessions and settings are processed on your device and are never sent to us. We don’t operate a server that receives or stores them.

Where your data lives is your choice, in the app’s Settings:

  • Memory only (the default): nothing is saved. Closing the tab clears it.
  • This browser: saved in your browser’s local storage on this device. It stays until you clear it, and it isn’t shared with us or other devices.
  • Google Drive (advanced, optional): saved to a private app folder in your Google Drive using a Google sign-in you set up. That data is governed by your agreement with Google; the app can only access files it created.

Files you export (CSV, printouts, JSON backups) are created on your device and go wherever you save them.

Donor names

Sunday Tally is designed to work with envelope or donor numbers. There is no field for donor names or addresses. Giving statements print with blank name and address lines for your treasurer to complete from your church’s own records.

This website

  • No cookies and no tracking. We don’t set cookies, run advertising or use analytics that follow you across sites.
  • Visit counts. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It doesn’t use cookies or fingerprinting and doesn’t identify or follow individual visitors.
  • Hosting and security. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes standard request information (such as your IP address) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
  • Spelling. To show “check” or “cheque”, pages read your browser’s time zone and language. This happens on your device and isn’t sent anywhere.
  • Free tools. The cash count calculator and count sheet run in your browser. Nothing you type into them is sent to us.
  • The app may remember small preferences on your device, such as your theme and whether you’ve dismissed the welcome message.

Children

Sunday Tally is a tool for church administrators and volunteers and isn’t directed at children.
