How to use this count sheet
- Fill in the date, service and both counters’ names before the bag is opened.
- Sort cash by denomination; write the number of notes or coins and the amount for each.
- List each cheque with its cheque number or envelope number and amount.
- Split the total across funds using what’s written on the envelopes; undesignated money goes to the general fund.
- Check that the funds total equals the deposit total. If not, recount before anything is sealed.
- Both counters sign. The sheet goes to the treasurer; a copy stays with the deposit record.
